Common questions
How do I sync across my devices?
Sign in to the same Apple ID on each device with iCloud enabled. Your priorities sync privately through your own iCloud account — nothing is sent to us. Changes typically appear on your other devices within a minute.
Where is my data stored?
On your device, and (if you enable iCloud) in your own private iCloud account. Nothing is sent to us. To remove your data, delete items in the app or uninstall the app. iCloud copies are managed under your Apple ID in iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud.
Why does the app ask for microphone, camera, or photo access?
Only for features you actively start: the microphone and on-device speech recognition for voice updates, and the camera or photo library for capturing text via OCR. All processing happens on your device and is never sent to us. You can manage or revoke these permissions anytime in iOS Settings → TemporalNotes.
How does the voice update work?
Speak a brief update — a sentence or two after a call or meeting. The app uses on-device AI to extract structured information: status changes, new deadlines, risks, and owners. It then shows you a “Delta Card” — only what changed — so you can confirm or edit in seconds. Your audio and transcript never leave your device.
Does my voice leave my phone?
No. Your recording is transcribed on your device — the app requires on-device speech recognition, and on a device that cannot do it locally it declines to transcribe rather than sending audio to a server. The final transcript always comes from a local model bundled in the app. Nothing you say is uploaded, and there is no server to upload it to. On some devices you may not see live words appear while you speak; the transcript arrives when you stop.
The spoken review sounds robotic. Can I change the voice?
There is no in-app voice picker — the review automatically uses the best English voice your iPhone has installed, preferring premium and enhanced voices over the default. To improve it, install an enhanced or premium English voice from the iOS Settings app, and the review will pick it up right away. Note that Siri's own voices are not available to third-party apps, so a premium voice is as close as the review can get.
Do I need to create an account?
No. There are no accounts and no sign-up required. Open the app and start tracking immediately.
I marked a priority Done by accident. Where did it go?
Nothing is deleted. Tap Undo on the confirmation toast within about six seconds, or find it later in the collapsed Completed section at the bottom of the Priorities list, where you can Reopen it — inline, by swipe, or from the detail-view menu.
Why did my update get parsed with basic rules instead of AI?
The on-device AI is a one-time ~1.2 GB download. Until it finishes, updates are parsed by a built-in rule engine and the review shows a “Downloading on-device AI…” card. If the download finishes while you are still in a review, that review is re-parsed with the AI automatically.
What is the Early Warning system?
The app watches for patterns across your priorities that humans routinely miss — priorities stuck in “Waiting” with no forward progress (Stalled Loop), risks that quietly disappear without resolution (Risk Fade), priorities whose goals have silently shifted (Goal Drift), and decisions that keep getting reopened (Decision Backslides). When a pattern is detected, the app surfaces it before it becomes a crisis.
Is my data private?
Yes. TemporalNotes contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking. All AI processing runs on-device. We have no servers that receive your content. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
